32 Inch LCD Blog

The colours on my lcd tv have suddenly gone more green than anything else, anyone know why and if its fixable?

Perhaps its time to purchase a new lamp bulb. They need replacing about every 3yrs.:)

What's the difference between an LCD Projector and a DLP Projector? Which provides better picture clarity? Can someone give me a price comparison too?

most newer projectors are dlp which is far better than lcd, refresh rates are alot higher and can handle fast video without jumpy video. thats why alot of gamers use dlp over lcd. prices are all about the same though, but if you choose a projector its all about size of the screen you want and how dark is your room. you want to pay attention to contrast ratios and lumens

I am comparing two products to buy with my Amex points:
Sharp 32" HDTV AQUOS™ Liquid Crystal Television and the
Sharp 32" AQUOS™ HD Flat Panel LCD TV

Clearly they are different because they required a significantly different # of points. What's the difference? Which is better? What are the tradeoffs?

The LCD is the three letter acronym for Liquid Crystal Display. So they are exactly the same. Now for the two TVs you are looking into, you will need to get the model names for the two to have a better idea of what they offer. Sharp has several 32 inch LCD TVs some have more resolution and more features then the others. The model name for Sharp normally start with LC32xxxx, where the xxxx can be D40U, D50U, D6U etc. The D40U is the low end with the least resolution and features and is made in China, the D50U is the most recent model that has the best features and resolution and is assembled in Mexico. D6U is the 2005 model.

Im ready to splurge on a new TV, but I am confused as to what to get.

I want to get a large flat screen TV - that much I know. But when I went to look at them there were LCD televisions and Plasma televisions.

What is the difference between the two? What are the features and benefits of the two???

ANy suggestions or comments?

I have a samsung LNS4695D LCD. I connected a component cable from LCD to receiver and all I get is black and white picture.

Unplug your component cables, clean the terminals (use a cloth moistened with absolute alcohol), let them dry and plug it in again properly keeping the colour coding in mind. See that the plugs are all the way in and secure. If this doesn't help, check with another component cable. This seems like a problem with your connection.

I know to use as a computer monitor it would converted to an analog display, but if you could convert the wires from the lcd to a s-video plug and an external power supply you should have it solved. Does anyone know how to do this? Or is this possible without to much cost? I know you can buy conversion kits for some application?

its a fragile plastic ribbon cable .. u would first need to define which leads are which and then u would need to wire it to an adapter .. not really feasible unless ur an advanced tech …

Hello everyone,

As far as know most laptops LCD monitors are connected to the video card on the motherboard by a video cable. The LCD also has AC/DC inverter that converts low voltage DC power to higher voltage AC for a backlilght bulb. Do all laptops today this type of structure? Do all monitors today have backligh bulb?

thanks… are you saying that those lcd monitors that are using backlight bulb use latest technology. how did it work before?

well no laptop would be a laptop w/o a backlight bulb, and no, some factories still make the old laptops that dont go w/ that layout structure

Volgens een artikel in the Wall Street Journal zal de prijs van LCD televisies in 2008 met 12.2% en in 2009 met 14.4% dalen.

Zoekend naar een passende 32 inch LCD tv, zie je al snel door de bomen het bos niet meer. Op deze blog probeer ik al het relevante nieuws ien ontwikkelingen bij te houden.

Ikzelf ben al een aantal maanden op zoek naar een nieuwe tv. We hebben namelijk nog steeds een 12 jaar oude televisie (niet plat), die toch een paar kleine gebrekjes begint te vertonen:

• De afstandsbediening wordt met plakband bij elkaar gehouden (al hebben we vervanging gekregen van vrienden die dezelfde tv hadden, maar recentelijk ontploft is, (ook niet geruststellend)).
• Op sommige zenders begint een blauwe gloed presentatoren van links te beschijnen.
• Balken onder en boven het beeld worden irritant
• Zenders beginnen ook boven, onder, links en rechts balken te publiceren, waardoor effectieve beeld wel erg klein wordt.

Nu is het moeilijk een keuze te maken voor een nieuwe 32 inch lcd televisie. Veel verschillende types elk met voors en tegens. Dit zal ik op dit blog proberen bij te houden met al het wikken en wegen wat erbij hoort. 

Ik heb specifiek voor de 32 inch LCD tv gekozen, aangezien dat momenteel de populairste maat is, tevens is het het maximum wat de wederhelft in huis wenst te hebben.
